About Us
The Babylon Village Youth Project Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization made up of youth between the ages of 9 and 20 from the Babylon Village area. We are funded through the Town of Babylon Youth Institute but much of our funds are donations from the community. At the Babylon Village Youth Project, the goal is to culturally stimulate youth and provide them with opportunities to do voluntary community service. The Youth Project is currently housed in a post-Civil War cottage that was renovated by a community effort and turned into a comfortable drop-in lounge and activities center. Youths are offered the opportunity to go on trips to museums, historical sites, theatre productions, camping and participate in youth hostel group living experiences. A Long Island nature study and local history program utilizes the rich scenic, geological and ecological variety of our area. The youth present seasonal senior citizen dinners and live theater productions. The Youth Project has a full complement of all the technology today's youth demand. The Youth Center has over fifteen computers that youth can use for school projects, homework research, and surfing the web. Youth members also have use of a big screen TV and all of the current video game systems at their disposal. On the left side of this page you will find links to our current Board of Directors information. You will also find information about how youth members can join our center. For parents we have included our centers rules. If you would like to contribute now you will also find a link on the left side of this page. |
